The New York Times reports that the doctor in isolation at New York City’s Bellevue Hospital has tested positive for the Ebola virus.
The physician, who just returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea, was hospitalized earlier today after developing a fever of 103 degrees as well as nausea, pain and fatigue Wednesday night, city officials said. On Thursday morning, he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan for testing. The doctor, who returned from West Africa about 10 days ago, has been identified as Craig Spencer.
The patient reportedly did not quarantine himself upon returning to the US. City officials said today he took an Uber taxi service to a bowling alley on Wednesday night.
For more on the patient, details are available in the post I published just minutes ago. Check for more updates soon.
